However, going by analysts another problem that the company faces is that it’s neither differentiated, nor diversified enough. Hence, its future is heavily dependent on external factors. Moreover, ONGC is heavily focused on the productivity of Bombay High, which is aging, resulting in lower production. At the same time, ONGC has lost (either to competitors or due to Government of India blocking the bids) almost all the bids in recent past, thus failing to ramp up its production. Being a Government of India undertaking, ONGC is also in trouble as the Government is not allowing it to diversify and differentiate itself from competitors and leverage its current power into another industry. So ONGC now needs to do a lot internally before it can gain its lost value in the market.

The Indian realty sector could not manage to save itself from the domino effect of the US housing crisis. Lack of liquidity in the market has put all major real estate players in jeopardy. Falling prices, incomplete mega projects due to cash crunch, high value unyielding stocks (lands purchased at a high price during boom) et al are gradually making them slip faster.
